I'd take Godot over Gordon tbh
No problem!
This is a cute and pop genocide of love!
augh Aerith's gonna do it

leave it to rSFF

Alucard is the undeniable star of the baby bracket, if you ask me

and Tifa!
would losing to neptune be more embarassing for gordon than him losing to tina armstrong

Oh wow, Zelda is in danger of making Aerith appear to be stronger than Squall. Before the match started, I still would have taken Squall over Aerith in a direct match.

Even if Tifa beats Luigi, she shouldn't be considered Star over someone who some people took to lose in Round 1 and proceeded to make his whole division look bad.

actually Crash Bandicoot looks great!
transience 11/17/2018 6:24:36 PM#457
how is Tifa a star? she's done fine, of course, but she had to be at least a co-fave to come out of the bottom of the bracket. now, if she smashes Luigi then I might consider her.

but Alucard.. I don't think anyone had him going to the div final, let alone winning it.
xyzzy
Tifa is apparently the only strong FF character left

that alone deserves a star
I had him going to division final!

I just also had.....Sora....winning it....
Lord have mercy on my soul, I've had a good run but I can't run anymore. Just put me down
BKSheikah got me good in Guru

yeah I guess I could see that line of logic, that Tifa being good in the face of all these guys sucking is actually super impressive

The vast majority of Gurus had Alucard losing to Kefka.

Kefka

As many people had Alucard winning his division as have Ganondorf beating Link.

Geralt is starting to stall Auron a bit. Probably too big of a lead to come back from thogh

Speaking of Sora:

Sora (2013c) has a strength of 33.55 against Base Link.
Yuna (2013c) has a strength of 27.08 against Base Link.
Sora59.64%32,183
Yuna40.36%21,777
Sora wins with 59.64% of the vote!

For all some people are saying that Yuna disappointed, she improved on Sora, Red, and Big Boss relative to expectations!

(the top half of that division is busted)

Yuna (2013c) has a strength of 27.08 against Base Link.
Ridley (2013c) has a strength of 26.21 against Base Link.
Yuna51.61%27,847
Ridley48.39%26,113
Yuna wins with 51.61% of the vote!

Also still beats Ridley despite Ridley having very good reason to boost!
Black Turtle did a pretty good job.
After that update, Squall is now weaker than Aerith. Seems like Squall has lost all of the strength that he received from Kingdom Hearts, and maybe even a little extra on top of that.

I really hope KH3 is a success. KH3 won't directly boost Squall or Sephiroth since they aren't in the game, but it could indirectly boost them again if KH3 gets the site to start caring about KH in general again.

The biggest issue I have with the Auron/Geralt result is that I have a lot of trouble taking Geralt over Sub-Zero comfortably. Sub-Zero has always been a cut above the standard midcarder and this is a good year for fighting game characters, and he's had solid results so far.

True, it hasn't been confirmed, but nothing revealed up to this point has shown any Final Fantasy characters in the game.

The whole time I've fealt Geralt simply has a hardcore audience that'll vote for him in any match, but he's too different from the GameFaqs typical audience to get blowouts. So he'll get his 45-55% regardless of who he faces.

eh, Sub's had decent results, but so has Geralt. I'll be curious to see where Rosalina and Shulk end up measuring. I think Rosalina's probably about equal to Shulk, maybe slightly better?

Well, if the current results hold, Rosalina clearly beats Shulk. Which is not super surprising after seeing how strong Peach somehow ended up being.

Currently Rosalina is at 38.46% on Auron, which would put her well above Lucina and Shulk and at 45.22% on Magus.

So here's a general question

People have been throwing around Kirby/Phoenix as a match that needs to taken with a major grain of salt. Then it was Kirby/Bowser.

What are any other matches where people think the result just plain doesn't match up with everything we know?

honestly with the exception of Kirby these results look fairly clean.

People would probably say Ganon/Chun-Li doesn't make sense, too.

Maybe Bowser/2B as something along the same lines, especially after he beat Kirby.

I'm inclined to agree. Darnit Kirby.

I think Geralt/Auron is looking sketchy though. I'm not convinced that Geralt winning three nailbiters in a row didn't endear him to the GameFAQs audience.

Leon can you throw out where we are with a 54/46 result here? I’m inclined to say those seem reasonable too.

Oh, it's possible Geralt's picked up a bit of a bandwagon considering the circumstances.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Red overperformed a little bit, too. He had the lowest prediction percentage in round 3.

I kinda think Tifa might be able to get a bit of a bandwagon going, too.
FSABot 11/17/2018 6:40:27 PM#488
2 cuts in a row. Can we make it three and a trend?

If Red does any worse than the top half of his division looks REALLY bad. He might have gotten a slight bandwagon but would it have been more than Alucard?

Good point. We'll see what happens next round when Auron faces Sonic (assuming Auron holds on). We've seen Auron/Sonic twice in the past, both in 2008 though. Though one of those matches is completely unreliable due to Auron taking an SFF beating from Sephiroth.
