This isn't a clutch performance unless you want to call Ganon beating Dante one too

At this point most people would consider Zelda losing a choke job

at least i can rest easy knowing sub-zero over auron was more reasonable than squall over zelda

i mean, for like 2 seconds in there

And I always miss the obvious chances to chase points

I'm not convinced as I think Zelda is stronger than Ganondorf

Although if Squall keeps dropping it'd be hard to doubt it even if you think Zelda is stronger than Ganondorf

These contests have always been silly and I haven't seen much change in all these years.

Basically always been and will be Nintendo vs Square. Or more precisely, Final Fantasy vs Mario/Zelda.

I still like Snake, but it’s probably somewhat close. Technically Zelda doing what she’s doing reflects well on The Boss which then reflects well on Snake. Factor in the old man Big Boss pic and the fact that Quiet would’ve sucked in any year and the only MGS char without an excuse is Ocelot (does his pic suck too though?)

Not at the moment. I'm not at home right now either, but I'll post them here when I get back.

Putting the over/under at 61. Think if Squall can't get Zelda below that Dante probably is stronger than Squall this year

I think part of it is Squall being weaker too. That match vs Garrus was not a good look at all.

Squall is probably weaker. I thought Vivi's win over him even after the bandwagon was kind of legit.

Oh I don't about Dante.

I'm still rooting for a weak Ganon personally.

But like this has to be somewhat of a particular Zelda boost.

If she's not well over even Bowser, Squall loses to 2B? Unless we're all not going to take that number too seriously.

Oh yeah I think Zelda went up a bit. Zelda vs Boss was the big warning there. Squall dropped too though I think, that's all I'm saying, so the boost isn't as ridiculous as it seems at first glance. I called Zelda at 59% so I'm not as surprised as most I guess.

We might have the star of the round and turd of the round in the same match.

Although it's possible Aerith might have gotten the benefit of bracket votes, you also need to remember that only 35.15% of the site actually had Aerith making to round 3. And even Fox had 34.59% of the site picking him to reach round 3. Hard to make a case for bracket votes favoring either character with those bracket prediction percentages.

Between the two of them, both characters would have been fairly split in their bracket support for this match.

Red wins, but Big Boss made him fight for it. This basically means that him, Sora, Big Boss, and Crash are all pretty close (with Ridley and Cecil not too far behind), which doesn't say great things for the top half of this division. With other KH and MGS characters also looking weaker, and non Pikachu Pokemon not looking great, Red's probably not anything more than a midcarder.

Alucard on the other hand continues to have one of the most impressive runs in the Contest. Not many would have taken Peach over Yuna and Kefka, and yet that's how the hierarchy is going through Alucard.

2B confirms herself as one of the most successful newcomers in the Contest with a strong performance against Bowser. She did a little worse than Charizard, but that's still better than most expected her to do. I believe this speaks more for 2B's strength than Bowser's weakness, as he's done well prior to this match.

Kirby puts up another impressive performance, and continues to look like one of the strongest characters in this bracket. Phoenix isn't a bastion of strength, but he did manage to beat Ike last round so he is worth something, and Kirby still smacked him down to almost Isaac levels.

Crew Predictions: 94/104

Next Round Thoughts: Red/Alucard looks like Alucard's match. If Red really is in that midcard range, Alucard has looked a step above that with his wins over other midcarders like Yuna and Kefka (and Peach now I guess). Bowser/Kirby should be a good one, and I think Kirby looks better going into that showdown.
