yeah I wouldn't be surprised if Yuna finished with at least a doubling

I think it's still kind of a bad showing if she only doubles Godot though because he should be really weak

Also, I haven't really been looking at trend charts for the matches so far, but are trends basically dead after the first hour or so? Seems like the percentages barely move once they've settled after the initial rush.

yeah, I think that’s the impact of mobile. there’s also the fact that the site is 25+ so the idea of an after school vote doesn’t really exist anymore.

Even with mobile allowing people to vote during work/school, it's still possible for people to vote on both mobile and their home computer. This is technically legal as 2 different IP addresses would be voting in the match.

The After School Vote has been dead for like 5 years now, but I've been trying to find a successor to the dead ASV. The logical step up from this will be the After Work Vote. The concept of the After Work Vote was born out of a poll in 2012 when an option that had a strong ASV started to slow down after 5:30 PM. The limited evidence suggesting the existence of the After Work Vote shows that it begins at 5:30 PM, which lines up with the typical 9-5 work day for full-time workers. The After Work Vote will generally apply to full-time workers, as part-time workers are less likely to have a consistent work schedule on the days where they have to work. Part-time workers are also more likely to work fewer than 8 hours in a day, making it easier to vote in the poll from home before going to work.

This would be called the During Work Vote (replacing the old During School Vote) if sufficient evidence is discovered that can conclusively prove that the During Work Vote exists.

In one poll where I could see evidence of the After Work Vote, one of the options received a midday spike around 12:00 PM and lasting for about 2 hours. This could be caused by people voting during their lunch break.

luster I gotta ask, on all these things you have broken down to the exact hour, what time zones are you accounting for?

how does a 2 hour lunch break window match the two major population corridors of the US being 4 hours apart?

I'm mostly accounting for the Eastern time zone, because it's the biggest time zone by population in the US. The 2 hour lunch break window accounts for the Eastern and Central time zones.

the central time zone is also more populous than the pacific time zone (which is 3 hours separated from the eastern time zone, not 4)

The board vote is not at all synonymous with the registered user results. Tidus had the board vote against DK, but the registered voters favored DK by a 4 point margin over the anonymous voters. It would make sense that the board vote is doesn't always match the registered user results since the board vote makes up only a very small percentage of the total registered user votes.

Oh, geez... I was just looking at the updates and it took almost three hours for Cloud to not be doubled by L-Block.

so who's the strongest character we take Kefka to beat now?

he's pretty much equaling Charizard's performance against L-Block in 2010

Kefka/Yuna is an interesting conversation. I have no idea

Charizard was on roids in 2010

Kefka is also an asshole and probably loses to bomberman or something
I think Kefka beats Yuna easily if it comes to that. Yuna's probably no stronger than Tidus, and I wouldn't pick Tidus to beat Kefka these days (as much as it pains me).
i'm hesitant to put stock in kefka, i think his strength fluctuates wildly based on his opponent and mood

Eh, I don't think so. Kefka hasn't put up a dud since 2008. He was solid all throughout 2010 and 2013. He had awful pics up 'til then, and he's been doing fine now that he's got decent pics to choose from.
transience 10/23/2018 10:02:06 PM#141
yeah, I took Kefka thinking that he could top Yuna -- but the question was if he could get there. I don't think much of the FF10 guys. fortunately Auron has an easy path except for.. Vincent? who knows there.

transience 10/23/2018 10:03:23 PM#142
that said, I think Yuna is clearly better than Tidus. I'd take DK over Kefka.

LeonhartFour 10/23/2018 10:03:34 PM#143
Yeah, I think Auron's got the easiest division aside from Sephiroth. The only thing that can really trip him up is if Vincent suddenly becomes good again or if Geralt turns out to be really, really strong.

Eh, I wouldn't. I'm definitely not taking Tidus over L-Block!

Either way, I don't think I've seen a clear performance from Yuna that tells me definitively she's a cut above Tidus. Rikku, maybe. I think she might actually be the second strongest FFX character.

But of course, she missed the cut this year.
transience 10/23/2018 10:10:05 PM#145
eh, you're still thinking of L-Block as linear. it's an L! I think Wario beats L-Block too.

LeonhartFour 10/23/2018 10:12:25 PM#147
Eh, I think it's a bit more linear in 1-on-1 than it is in multiways. There's more room for variance and wackiness with multiple characters in the poll.

As a result, I also think L-Block is weaker in 1-on-1s, too. It didn't look great in 2010 either. Of course, it's possible that it's just bottomed out and nobody cares anymore because 2007 was just too long ago now.

I almost added a caveat for rallies, but I've never been that worried about a Sans rally, honestly.
Kefka would stomp Yuna real bad. Zack beat Yuna and then Kefka beat Zack, and stuff isn't always transitive but it's a pretty easy comparison to make.

He would handle DK with ease too. Kefka's performances have been way, way stronger than he's been in the past. His performance in 2013 was like...Zelda (the character) numbers.

L-Block would beat Wario. I legitimately think that more people care about and have an emotional attachment to L-Block than they do Wario.
Black Turtle did a pretty good job.
