Has
Kerrigan ever used her appearance from the cover of Brood War? I'm just
curious because if it weren't for the name being there I wouldn't be
able to tell who Kerrigan is in her pic, if anything I'd think she's a

Kind of a shame the rally happened because we'd be having a pretty epic duel for 2nd right now otherwise. --- http://www.miscupload.com/upload/452457071929141623517416.gif |
Eh
Kerrigan would've been pretty safely been in first. Safely enough that
it wouldn't actually make it an interesting match to watch. I'd be bitter about losing expert points but I forgot to do my EXPERT pick today anyway. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |
Eh Kerrigan would've been pretty safely been in first. I'm not so sure about that! --- i'll do rydia -Dante |
Oh, there was a Missilie rally? At least they're picking good characters. --- I keep coming back here where everything... slipped Ahhahhahaa |
I blame the rallies for starting early and not waiting until Kerrigan was winning tbqh --- thelefty for analysis crew 2008 imo -tranny I have a third degree burn in flame-o-nomics -Sir Chris |
Kerrigan's
cut 200 votes since the rally stopped. Missile's board vote only got
him up like 50. Kerrigan will probably cut like 200+ more before the
match ends too with the infamous Starcraft night vote. Hell if we had higher vote intake I'd actually think this match could be interesting in spite of the rally. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |
I was making fun of you For saying she would be in first Crono's in first, you see My talent is lost on you --- i'll do rydia -Dante |
Oh. Oh I see. Well my write-up didn't even mention Crono I actually forgot he was in the match. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |
I
think Kerrigan wins without the rally but at least there'd be some kind
of comeback/struggle for it. Instead Missile jumps out to a lead from
which Kerrigan just can't recover from. And it happens right in the
beginning of the match to remove any chance of things getting
interesting too! --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? GotD (219/384) Melee v FFX |

Division 6: Round 1 - Match 47 – (6) Pikachu vs. (18) Lloyd Irving vs. (27) Big Daddy Moltar’s Analysis Pikachu You feel that inside you? That's the Pokefear Lloyd Two swords gives him twice the power, and it still won't be enough Big Daddy Needs a Handyman ally for this fight All these guys were in the 2010 contest, and from that alone, you can see how this match will go. Pikachu got 45% on Snake (sprite overperformance or not) and 61% on Shepard (and Shep is stronger than Big Daddy fyi), Big Daddy got 40% on Tifa (fluke?!), and Lloyd lost to Fox. "Lost to Fox" is enough to tell me Lloyd gets last place. Bioshock is in good enough graces right now that Big Daddy should take second without too much problem. Pikachu does what Pokemon do and wins this match. Moltar’s Prediction: Pikachu: 48% - Lloyd: 22% - Big Daddy: 30% MYSTERIOUS GUEST'S analysis: Lloyd channels his inner Wesker killer and wins. Two swords means twice the votes. Dwarven Vow #17 Upsets And Love Always Win I'm taking my upset pick and you can't stop me, Daddy! Lope-- MYSTERIOUS GUEST'S PREDICTION: Lloyd Irving - 40.45% Pikachu - 30.60% Big Daddy - 28.95% ... fine... swap Lloyd Irving and Pikachu's percentages... hold hold hold... you mean Lloyd in second is too crazy for me to take, too? Let's see... in 2010... Lloyd got 32% on Fox... that's... not too bad! Big Daddy... got 40% on Tifa!?!? ... *sulks off* Lopen's prediction: Pikachu - 41.44% Big Daddy - 34.08% Lloyd Irving - 24.48% Leonhart’s Analysis This is a pretty interesting match for Pikachu here. Lloyd has proven to be higher end fodder over the years, and Big Daddy is a pretty decent midcarder as well. It’s been hard to get a clear read on the rat over the years because he throws in at least one really weird performance every year (Dante/Leon/Pikachu in 2007, Crono/L-Block/Pikachu in 2008, Snake/Pikachu in 2010). This one should give us a pretty decent idea though. It’s clear that he’s above both of these guys though, so he shouldn’t have any trouble winning. It’s just a matter of if he’ll look impressive doing it. Leonhart’s Vote: Lloyd Irving Leonhart’s Prediction: Pikachu – 43.00% Big Daddy – 32.00% Lloyd Irving – 25.00% --- Moltar Status: Crew Contest Analysis Crew Archives: http://thecrew.speedrunwiki.com/ |
Kleenex’s Analysis You know, I'll come right out and say it - I like Pikachu. He's not my favorite character or anything, or even my favorite Pokemon, but I think he's an alright guy. He saved us from L-Block in 2008 and allowed Crono to get to the finals. This might seem contradictory because he's standing in Crono's way this year, but you know, if Crono's going to lose to someone I'm oddly okay with it being Pikachu. Reparations for 2008 or something, I dunno. But that's next round. This round Pikachu gets to take out the trash and the trash compacter. Kleenex's Prediction Pikachu with 46.00% Lloyd with 25.00% Big D with 29.00% Transience’s Analysis This seems pretty easy: Pikachu in first, Big Daddy behind by a good 15% and Lloyd another 15% lower. I kinda question Pikachu's ability to go to town on other characters given the fact that it's freaking Pikachu. But this site has gone gaga over their childhood so who knows. He/it should be able to push 55%+ but I'm not going to pick it. Maybe this gives Crono fans some hope before Magus comes and drives a sickle into all those hopes and dreams. transience's prediction: Pikachu with 48%, Big Daddy with 35%, Lloyd with 17% KP's Analysis I think Pikachu's being a bit overrated by this board. He has good results but not stellar results. I think he's about the level of Fox normally and no one would ever be considering Fox over Crono (...I think). He won't be dropping this match, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he disappoints or even gets a scare from Big Daddy - would Pikachu do that much better than 40% on Tifa, anyway? Pikachu - 46% Big Daddy - 33% Lloyd - 21% Crew Consensus: Pikachu dons thunder armor and aims for the horn to win --- Moltar Status: Crew Contest Analysis Crew Archives: http://thecrew.speedrunwiki.com/ |

taking Lloyd above Pikachu is actually pretty easy to justify, I mean he did do better on Fox --- Fight like dragons, have no fear, swords are made of STEEEEEEEEL~ |
th3l3fty posted... what is up with all these Pokemon matches being at night I just ran the numbers and came up with this: Night matches: Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Lugia, Pikachu, Missingno, Red, Magikarp, and Charizard in round 1. Mewtwo, Lugia, Missingno, and Charizard in round 2. Day matches: N and Blue in round 1. Pikachu, Squirtle, and Red in round 2. By my count, that's a total of 12 night matches and 5 day matches. Should Blue advance, he gets another day match. And Magikarp would get another night match if he advances (very unlikely). --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as SuperNiceDog, Guru Champ! |

Yeah, Lloyd got the board vote. Board 8 still loves Symphonia 8 years later. And I said beforehand that 55% for Pikachu would be impressive but that was with the assumption that this would be 2010 Big Daddy. --- http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/9919/leonhart.png |

Hmm.
This may become a reasonable result again depending on how the night

Division 6: Round 1 - Match 48 – (9) Magus vs. (10) Hal "Otacon" Emmerich vs. (19) Jade Curtiss Moltar’s Analysis Magus Embarrassing himself since 2005 Otacon Can't get enough MGS characters Jade Unlucky name Magus lost to a Sandbag. That automatically means that every match featuring him is now debatable. I do think that Otacon is a bit of a longshot here though, as he should be pretty weak. Feels weird to say that since this match has been one of the more debated ones. We've seen that MGS fans really care about its characters, so I wouldn't be totally shocked if Otacon had some strength. Still, Magus would have to had fallen pretty hard since 2010 for that to happen. 41% on Alucard isn't great, but I'll take a low-midcard over Otacon, who should be high-fodder at best. I believe Magus vs Liquid or Ocelot would have been a much closer match, and I don't see Otacon being close to Liquid or Ocelot in strength. lol jade Moltar’s Prediction: Magus: 49% - Otacon: 37% - Jade: 15% Lopen’s Analysis Did you say "nerd?" Well, I didn't. Never got the rationale for backing Otacon here. Even at his worst Magus hasn't looked much worse than guys like Ocelot, and he's probably looked better than The Boss. I'd take either of those two over Otacon and pretty easily so yeah. I'm guessing people just got tired of getting burned by Magus over and over. Well, as someone who's been pretty fairly good at predicting Magus I have all the faith in the world in him to demolish this match. Shouldn't even be that close. I expect a Frog/Viewtiful Joe type matchup here-- that is to say, not much of a match at all. Meanwhile Tales characters have been looking decent so I think Jade is going to surprise here and not look like a total joke for once. Lopen's prediction: Magus - 53.66% Otacon - 30.74% Jade - 15.60% Leonhart’s Analysis This could turn out to be one of the most important matches of the contest because of the impact it’ll have on the next round with Crono/Pikachu. Magus being there obviously gives Pikachu a good shot at scoring the upset. I think Crono still can win either way, but that’s an analysis for another time. Magus has one of the weirdest contest histories of any character. He’s gone from Noble Nine breaker to infamous choker who shouldn’t be trusted to win any sort of debatable match. Magus is one of the few characters in this thing I’d pick against in a tough match simply because it’s him. But I’m picking Magus to win anyway. I don’t think Otacon will be very good. Despite Magus’s freefall over the years, he’s probably still a low midcarder, somewhere around the level of Ocelot, The Boss, or Raiden, if not a little lower. Would I pick Otacon to be on the same level as those guys? Not a chance. That being said, Magus could still find a way to lose this, because, well, it’s Magus. Although if Magus is bad enough to lose to Otacon now, Pikachu may not even need him to be there to beat Crono! Oh, Jade’s in the match, too, but he still sucks. Leonhart’s Vote: Hal “Otacon” Emmerich Leonhart’s Prediction: Magus – 40.00% Hal “Otacon” Emmerich – 34.00% Jade Curtiss – 16.00% --- Moltar Status: Crew Contest Analysis Crew Archives: http://thecrew.speedrunwiki.com/ |
Kleenex’s Analysis This one has been talked about a lot. Otacon just strikes me as really weak, though. I mean, it took a 243 character bracket for him to even get into a contest despite being around since MGS1. People do seem to like him, but he seems like the type of character that would lose all support if a stronger, more well-liked character was in the poll. Luckily for him, Magus is not that character. Neither is Jade. I could see this match panning out a lot of ways, but Frog and Crono looked alright, so Magus should look alright too - and that should be enough to beat Otacon. I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see him choke, though. It certainly would be the first time he lost to a sad sack. Kleenex's Prediction Magus with 45.00% Otacton with 39.00% Jade with 16.00% KP's Analysis I'd rather not pick Magus and get burned than pick Magus and get burned. Now that we have my true reasoning out of the way - Magus has really looked like garbage the last two contests. Losing to Sandbag and getting Ulti-blown out by Alucard is just shameful. Otacon might be the weakest MGS character yet, but I think people are giving the guy too little credit. He's been in three mainline MGS games, is liked well enough, and the MGS fanbase seems like a fanbase that generally likes all of the major characters from the series and would support any one of them to degree. It's difficult for me to see a site of nerds outright disliking someone like Otacon. I think he has the potential to be close to guys like The Boss and Ocelot, and while he probably won't realize that potential, it's still good enough to beat Magus. Him standing out like crazy doesn't hurt, either. Otacon - 46% Magus - 44% Jade - 10% Crew Consensus: Magus? MAGUS? MAGUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! --- Moltar Status: Crew Contest Analysis Crew Archives: http://thecrew.speedrunwiki.com/ |
