Yeah I would've but multiway oracle picks are kind of a pain and I was skeptical they wouldn't just become a chore later. And yeah I know, you say "hey you could just copy and paste your crew prediction" but I always seem to have trouble doing them at the same time for one reason or another. Very seldom do my oracle picks exactly match up with my crew picks. Best to just miss a match right off and remove the foot in the door approach's bite immediately. Even if I lose some bragging rights to our non Oracle folk! (Plus when I inevitably wipe out several times later I will be spared their scathing percentage based mockeries) Their loss they should read the Analysis Crew! --- No problem! Division 1: Round 1 - Match 2 – (6) Raiden vs. (13) Waluigi vs. (22) Alan Wake Moltar’s Analysis Raiden The rain transformed Waluigi Too bad, it's 2nd place time Alan Wake Go back to sleep Alan Post-Revengeance Raiden is a pretty interesting beast. He's never been worth much, especially compared to Snake and Big Boss. However, Revengeance was well-received and Raiden really came out of it as a badass character, so I'd be shocked if he wasn't stronger now. He won't be touching Snake or BB, but he could be a good midcarder now. Both Waluigi and Alan are fodder so even pre-MGRR Raiden could have won this. Waluigi, as much as I hate to say it, probably won't roll over and die here since he's Nintendo and really stands out here. He should take an easy second and will probably do better than I would like to admit. Moltar’s Bracket: Raiden > Waluigi > Alan Wake Moltar’s Prediction: Raiden: 47% - Waluigi: 34% - Alan Wake: 19% Lopen’s Analysis So Raiden will take his sword and cut what he will. And what he's going to need to cut is the lead because have you seen that pic!? Good god. Waluigi is gonna come out swinging, here. The third guy is some dude who exists only to provide the right hand border of Waluigi's pic, best I figure. I still think Raiden wins because he's probably going to be a respectable midcarder now with the power of Rising REVENGEANCE (I still can't believe that's actually a word), but I think Waluigi taking first is more likely than that other dude pushing him to third at that point. Lopen's prediction: Raiden - 42.57% Waluigi Time - 35.32% Right Border - 22.11% Leonhart’s Analysis Raiden and Waluigi are two guys who are a decent bit down the character hierarchy in their respective series’ popularity. We’ve seen Raiden struggle to beat Sam Fisher, and we’ve seen him get beaten out by The Boss in a vote-in and dominated by Big Boss and Snake in contest matches. We don’t have any data on Waluigi other than the Rivalry Rumble and a couple of Favorite Mario Character polls where he finishes dead last, but I don’t think you can take anything concrete out of that. In general, Waluigi isn’t particularly liked by the Mario fanbase, as those polls showed, but it feels like he’s gotten almost a cult following in recent years, possibly due to stuff like Brawl in the Family. That being said, I gotta take Raiden here. He’s riding high off of REVENGEANCE and despite some shaky showings in the past, he’s a decent low midcarder, which is something I’m not expecting out of Waluigi. It takes more than just being well known to be strong in these contests. I don’t really know what to make of Alan Wake though. He got in the bracket pretty much on outside support because I don’t really remember seeing any B8 support for him. The game did okay in GOTY, but I don’t think he’ll be the kind of guy this site gravitates to. I doubt he’ll get completely destroyed since Raiden and Waluigi aren’t all that themselves, but I’d be surprised if he’s in contention. Kleenex’s Analysis I'm sure everyone's very excited about Waluigi's contest debut (Rivaly Rumble? What's that?). No one likes Waluigi, but he sticks out like a big, ugly, red nose in this match. That's not going to be enough to let him win this match or anything, but I think it'll be interesting to see what a pure Nintendo entrant can do even if few people like him. Raiden, on the other hand, has always been kind of middling. He's had a new game since last time that was fairly well received, but I have a hard time putting much faith into him. I mean, the dude almost lost to Sam Fisher and Kain Highwind. Yes, this was pre-Revengeance, but it's tough to have faith in someone who lists those as his best accompishments. There's also a dude with a flashlight in this match too. Kleenex's Prediction Raiden with 55.10% Waluigi with 29.49% Alan Wake with 15.41% Transience’s Analysis WAAAA I ACTUALLY WANT TO GIVE ALAN WAKE THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT HERE BUT I DON'T TRUST GAMEFAQS TO PLAY ANYTHING OUTSIDE OF THEIR (ADMITTEDLY VERY SMALL) COMFORT ZONE. RAIDEN AND WALUIGI ARE IN THAT COMFORT ZONE (EVEN THOUGH BOTH CHARACTERS ARE EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE), AND, WELL, WALUIGI IS A WALUIGI TRANSIENCE'S PREDICTION: RAIDEN WITH 37.31%, ALAN WAKE WITH 31.45%, WALUIGI WITH 31.24% KP's Analysis The first of many 'who's worse?' matches. Waluigi vs. Alan Wake is a not a match I ever wanted to predict. Waluigi looked awful in Rivalry Rumble, but his rivalry was really stupid so it's probably not entirely fair to judge him that way. Alan Wake's name is the title of his game, but it's not a game that has really stayed in the gaming consciousness, I think. I'm surprised he even made it in. I think people unsure of what to vote for will just go for Waluigi because he's Nintendo, which should give him the 'win'. Raiden should do well here. He's facing bad competition and is fresh off of Metal Gear Rising. Raiden - 55% Waluigi - 25% Alan Wake - 20% Guest’s Analysis - Kuza Like Big Boss, Raiden should be at his strongest yet, he really has no excuse not to win this match. As for Waluigi vs Alan Wake, I think I'm siding with a NN here. Don't get me wrong, i didn't mean Noble Nine, I mean Notorious Nintendo, as obnoxious as Waluigi is, his Nintendo background should somehow enable him to topple someone from a niche horror game. guess at the end of the day this is probably what we should have
expected from Link. I mean, his best performance in 4-ways was 70%, and
that was a full 24 hours. If this match kept going he'd certainly

Division 1: Round 1 - Match 3 – (9) Yoshi vs. (10) Soliare of Astora vs. (19) Demi-Fiend Moltar’s Analysis Yoshi Shame about this bracket placement Soliare Praise the sun that it's losing in Round 1 Demi-Fiend watch out we've got an obscure jrpg character here So this is pretty much the previous match only with a stronger higher seed and weaker lower seeds. Yoshi is going to have no trouble winning here and winning big. Easily the strongest and most recognizable character here. Soliare looks good to take second because of Dark Souls and the whole sun meme thing, and the SMT fanbase will probably keep Demi-Fiend at least over 10%. Moltar’s Bracket: Yoshi > Soliare > Demi-Fiend Moltar’s Prediction: Yoshi: 69% - Soliare: 19% - Demi-Fiend: 12% Lopen’s Analysis So we've got Yoshi vs two random guys. I guess Dark Souls is the more popular game around here but as I understand it Solaire is kinda minorish and that design isn't doing many favors. Demi-fiend is kinda ugly but he looks more anime so that'll bring the votes. I'm actually skipping EXPERT MODE on this for #2 and #3 because I don't really wanna think about it. My gut says Demi-fiend in spite of the more minor game but yeah I'm not confident enough to actually give him the nod. The funny thing here is Yoshi will be getting huge numbers but everyone will be lowballing him because WELL YOU CAN'T GET BLOWOUTS BECAUSE LOOK AT LINK. Yoshi will defy this thinking, like the rebel scum he is. Lopen's PROTIP: In spite of this result, don't pick Yoshi > Link next round. (Raiden > Link is a tempting dark horse pick, however...) Lopen's prediction: Yoshi - 72.78% Demi-fiend - 13.82% Solaire - 13.40% Leonhart’s Analysis Not much to say about this one, really. We know Yoshi is way out of the league of the other two. He should dominate this one. Dark Souls is a relatively popular game, and it should easily outclass any Shin Megami Tensei game that doesn’t have “Persona” in the title. This match should be an easy 1-2-3 with big gaps between all of the characters. Leonhart’s Vote: Yoshi Leonhart’s Prediction Yoshi – 66.50% Solaire of Astora – 25.25% Demi-Fiend – 8.25% Kleenex’s Analysis So you know how yesterday I said Link would give us the top end of what a blowout could look like this contest? Well I think we get to test that theory today. Yoshi's only something of a mid-carder generally, but he's a good go-to vote in a match with other entrants no one cares about. And boy do we ever have some entrants no one cares about. Yeah yeah, people like Dark Souls, I get that. But the people who don't like Dark Souls? They're not going to vote for a generic looking paladin dude. And yeah yeah, people like Persona. But Demi-Fiend ain't no Persona character. These guys are both barrel-bottoming and that makes for a perfect opportunity for Yoshi to crush this match. After seeing Link's inability to destroy his weak-ass opponents
yesterday, I have to update my original predictions. Yoshi should still
score something of a blowout, but it won't be absurd as I had initially
thought. It also means that I have to somehow divvy up like 35% of the
votes to these other two losers which makes me really upset. Kleenex's Prediction Yoshi with 67.2% Solaire with 18.4% Demi-Fiend with 14.4% That's the best I can do. It would make me physically ill to put these scrubs any higher. Transience’s Analysis IT'S A DARK SOULS MONSTER VERSUS A NAMELESS GLOWY GUY. GIVE ME THE GUY WHOSE GAME IS ACTUALLY RELEVANT, EVEN IF HE DOESN'T MEAN A DAMN THING YOSHI TO LOOK BETTER THAN LINK (I will do a real analysis soon, when these matches aren't so ridiculous.) TRANSIENCE'S PREDICTION: YOSHI WITH 75.67%, SOLAIRE WITH 15.44%, DEMI-FIEND WITH 8.89% KP's Analysis I have a feeling Yoshi goes 'big' here and makes Link bad in comparison. He seems like a character that won't get many anti-votes or whatever. Solaire and Demi-Fiend are both really cool so it's nice to see them here. It's hard for me to see a way Solaire doesn't win this. Demi-Fiend has a fantastic character design and he has a cool name but SMT: Nocturne is a game very few people have played, and he isn't well-known outside the game's small fanbase. I don't trust Shin Megami Tensei that isn't Persona, and I barely trust that! Meanwhile, Dark Souls is a game that gets more popular every year, and Solaire is a character that the Dark Souls fanbase has somewhat latched onto. I don't think Dark Souls is a game that will have produced any strong characters, but his game being way bigger is enough for Solaire to win a fodder fight. Yoshi - 60% Solaire - 23% Demi-Fiend - 17% Guest’s Analysis - Ctes This is one of those boring round 1 matches that always happens, can't be avoided. Solaire and Demi-Fiend are new characters, but none of them should be able to do any damage, because they're facing Yoshi. Yoshi is going to dominate here. Out green high-midcarder is easily the most recognizable and if you haven't played Dark Souls or Persona 3, probably the only recognizable too. Our newcomers could stand out in some other matches though. Too bad that won't matter. So yeah, Yoshi wins, big. Yoshi is a character that has like no anti-voters. If you vote against him, it's because you like the other character more. We got an expert challenge to make second place matter, but that honestly isn't very interesting either. Solaire should get a fairly solid victory over Demi-Field, well, as solid a victory you can get when you're already getting stomped. Dark Souls is a very big game on gamefaqs, and it's pretty recent too. Persona 3 pales in comparison to that. It's a shame that, Solaire especially, couldn't get into one of those fodder matches we have a few of. It's also a shame that Yoshi was placed to meet Link in round 2. After that performance against a Missingno with a smell of fresh noble nine blood, it'd be great to see where Yoshi actually is now, but no, he gets two boring matches.
