legitimately hit MMX worse than Alucard with minimal SFF, but if he

Hyrule Division: Round 3 - Match 98 – (3) Luigi vs. (7) Weighted Companion Cube Moltar’s Analysis Luigi Round 1 - 65.70% vs. Meta Knight Round 2 - 59.59% vs. Amaterasu Ammy does very well against Luigi Cube Round 1 - 78.10% vs. Sandal Round 2 - 53.80% vs. The Boss Cube struggles to beat The Boss Well, this could have been interesting if Cube didn’t drop the ball against The Boss. Unless her and Nathan are solid midcarders now (highly unlikely), Cube is pretty much dead here. Luigi actually did easily beat a midcarder in Amaterasu fairly easily, and Cube hasn’t even looked as good as the wolf. Cube should do worse than Ammy based on Round 2, but I can’t see it doing too badly here. Cube’s going to get some joke support, especially since Missingno beat Yoshi the other day. Plus, Portal has a very solid fanbase. It’s not going to get enough support to win, obviously, but it isn’t going to get destroyed. Moltar’s Bracket: Luigi > The Boss (whoops) Moltar’s Prediction: Luigi: 57% - Cube: 43% Lopen’s Analysis Last round, that coward Luigi snuck by Amaterasu who was too busy painting and talking about the arts to notice him. This round he is tasked with sneaking by a Cube. Not exactly covert ops, here. Especially not after said Cube only got like 53% on The Boss. Lopen's prediction: Luigi with 61.94% Transience’s Analysis I'm writing this on my iPod while sitting in an emergency room. now that's dedication! if this were a night match, I might consider the Cube. 55% or whatever on The Boss isn't too inspiring though and, unlike other "jokes", I think the Cube is at least somewhat linear and normal. portal has a real fanbase behind this box. hopefully, Luigi doesn't smash it too badly. transience's prediction: Luigi with 57.32% Ngamer’s Analysis Quickie w/ Ng: Non-glitch jokes are old news, and even at its peak WCC was no L-Block... but Luigi's easy enough to anti-vote that I don't think he quite runs away with it. Kleenex’s Analysis After Round 1, I would have bet that Cube stood a good chance at winning this match, and I think most people probably would have agreed. But then the thing went and had a miserable performance on The Boss, and you can really only give The Boss so much credit. No matter how you look at it, that was not a showing that is indicative of a character that could beat Luigi. So here we are. This leaves us with a pretty boring match. Not such a great start to Round 3, but it should get better as we go on. Bracket: Luigi Favorites: Luigi Prediction: Luigi with 59.67% Red Sox’s Analysis WCC disappointed against the Boss last round, but I think the Boss is underrated, as is Tails. Peach and Jill were in that group in 2006 as well, and have looked good since then. That leads me to believe that while Tifa overperformed a huge amount against Samus, it was probably by less than we thought. Tails/Boss doing badly in 2007 is explained by SFF from Vincent/Zelda, or just that everyone knew those 2 would advance and the question was who would get first. That's not enough to beat Luigi though. I'd love to see it happen, but it probably won't, especially in a day match. Prediction: Luigi with 56.00% Upset Potential: 10% Upper Bound: Luigi with 62% Lower Bound: Luigi with 50% Guest’s Analysis - LinkMarioSamus This is me analyzing a match with a joke character. Both Luigi and uberCube disappointed last round, but Cube had the worst of it, handing away 47% of the vote to a weak MGS character in the daytime. Some have blamed the picture for Cube's underperformance, but surely a picture can only be so much, right? I don't think the Cube collapses however. Some of us thought that Yoshi would be Missingno's perfect poison, and look how well that worked out. Now, Cube has already proven to be quite weak, but it should be respectable here. Between joke votes, Portal > Okami, and some other stuff, I'm going to pick Cube to outperform Ammy's result last round. Just for the lulz, the 2006 x-stats project The Boss to barely escape being doubled by Luigi, and and the '07 stats project Luigi to hoist himself about 2% over the doubling. However, not only is it possible that The Boss boosted, but joke characters shouldn't fold for the most part, especially when Cube is already recognized (or recognised, should I say) as one of the best characters from the current generation, and uberCube should thus have a good amount of support. Oh wait, this is a day match, right! Okay, I'll pick Luigi to slightly outdo his number from last round. This match will likely be the first test to see if joke characters simply collapse in a 1vs1 loss. Prediction: Luigi with 59.99% Crew Consensus: Luigi taunts and kicks Cube outta here |
