Stats last year have Auron getting 62% here, for whatever it's worth. What all do those numbers go through to make that stat? I know Sephiroth met Auron and Mega Man met Zero in the third round for both matches, so there's some detours being made there (though that's the way of life for four-way stats). I prefer the simplicity of using Fenix assuming he's not dropping any further, which we've yet to see continue since the 2007-2008 time-frame...though Gears did look bad in BGE2 (which doesn't necessarily mean Fenix dropped harder from 2008 to this year). --- T E A M C H O C O L A T E http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/7355/64590879.png |
To
get Auron, you just use what he got on Sonic. Sonic's number last year
should be relatively clean. For Zero, I used his round two match
against Snake, and used pre-bandwagon against Cloud Snake. Those numbers shouldn't be way too far off. Snake still managed to double Zero, after all. If he still does that and he gets anywhere near Auron, then yeah, he won't stand a chance against Squall because Squall got 42% on him back in 2006. --- "I can set you free, mate." Has Sonic fallen harder than Cloud since 2003? The thing is, though, that before Sonic collapsed, he actually boosted from 2003 to 2006. FFVII has been on a very gradual, almost imperceptible at least until their trends started changing, decline since 2003, so I'm not sure if the total change since 2003 is worse for Sonic. Sephiroth only got 64% on Sonic last year, which suggests Cloud would get around his 2003 mark of 66% again, but makes it hard to see him do much better than that. --- Missingno's quest to avenge Crono - Round 2: Yoshi |

Midgar Division: Round 2 - Match 92 – (7) Terra Branford vs. (2) Squall Leonhart Moltar’s Analysis Terra Round 1 - 53.87% vs. Revan darn you yoblazer Squall Round 1 - 68.01% vs. Akuma Squall lookin’ good. So Revan proves that he isn’t worth much, and HK-47 got exposed by L-Block and Isaac. Meh. Anyway this should be really ugly here. Old Square vs. New Square, I know, but this is also someone as strong as Squall vs. someone as weak as Terra. That’s bad before SFF, and then throw in some and you get a nasty match. Moltar’s Bracket: Squall > Terra Moltar’s Prediction: Terra: 30% - Squall: 70% Lopen’s Analysis ... whatever Terra asks Squall about love, Squall asks her about talking to that wall over there. gg nubz no re. Lopen's prediction: Squall with 73.33% Transience’s Analysis In the final buildup to Squall vs. Auron, we get Squall strutting his stuff against... Terra. Yeah. So much for that. We really got screwed on the buildup to big matches this year: Sonic SFFs Knuckles the round before his big match with Ganondorf, Squall gets Terra, Sephiroth gets Vincent and Tifa before his matchup with Snake (assuming no Missingno nonsense happens)... the list goes on. Anyway, Squall is way out of Terra's league, but there's probably not a whole lot of SFF here. Squall will look a little bit better, but old Square has its own fanbase and it's a pretty strong one. I also don't trust Squall to put up huge blowout numbers thanks to his anti-fanbase. I think he's a lot like Sora in that regard. Terra will lose handily but she can probably get 30% or something. She ain't beating Akuma! transience's prediction: Squall with 69.71% Ngamer’s Analysis Quickie w/ Ng: Blowouts have been impossible to come by this season, but this is the very definition of an SFF situation. Surely Squall has to come through for us, Mario/Falcon style. Ngamer Says: Squall > Terra, 71.27% Kleenex’s Analysis Terra was lucky Revan was a flop. Squall is not a flop. He's a dude that's about 500 tiers higher on the Square ladder. Dissidia boost or no, Terra's going to take a beating here. I don't think it'll be quite a blowout of the round beating, but it'll be close. Squall's gotta be looking good if he wants to upset Snake (if Pikachu can't do the job, that is !) Bracket: Squall Favorites: Squall Prediction: Squall with 68.88% Red Sox’s Analysis Here's an SFF blowout match, the worst kind of match in these contests, although, since Terra is from FFVI, the SFF may not be so heavy. Nonetheless, even if there were no SFF, Terra, however much she has impressed this contest, is just nowhere near a match for Squall. Prediction: Squall with 76.00% Upset Potential: 0% Upper Bound: Squall with 82% Lower Bound: Squall with 69% Guest’s Analysis - marsman57 Ahh Terra. It was nice to see her get to round 2 in an upset over Revan, but the road ends with Squall. Generally speaking Squall performs well against Final Fantasy characters. Cloud destroyed him in 2004, but he kept it very close with Vincent in 2005, and smashed Tidus in 2006. Terra's only prior victory was over Sarah Kerrigan and she has been slammed by both Dante and Zelda who are on a competitive level to Squall. Bracket: Squall > Terra Favorite: Terra Prediction: Squall with 73.4% Crew Consensus: Squall beats Terra. Whatever… |
