Ganon is slowly falling now. I have passed Ngamer in accuracy now, and
if Ganon bleeds another .2%, then I'll win the accuracy point! And I
was the only one who had Ganon under 64%...of course, as I mentioned,
this will have been the first time that Ganon breaks 62% in a summer
contest! |
Chaos Division: Round 2 - Match 71 – (3) Kirby vs. (6) GlaDOS Moltar’s Analysis Kirby Round 1 - 57.53% vs. Rikku Does as expected against Rikku. GlaDOS Round 1 - 66.78% vs. Fawful What an (f)awful opponent for GlaDOS to beat. This should be easy. Don’t be fooled by GlaDOS’s performance in Round 1. Fawful is weak as hell. Also it doesn’t change the fact that the computer was getting knocked around by Falco a few years back. She’s probably a bit stronger now, but Kirby will still make quick work out of her. Moltar’s Bracket: Kirby > GlaDOS Moltar’s Prediction: Kirby: 68% - GlaDOS: 32% Lopen’s Analysis Kirby just beasted all over Rikku, so just think what he's going to do when GlaDOS offers him cake... and when it is later revealed that the cake, is indeed, a lie. I'm not sure if you've paid attention to the plot of Kirby games, but basically they go like this: 1. "Bad guy" takes Kirby's food. 2. You do not **** with Kirby's food. 3. Kirby retaliates by destroying said bad guy, all of his possessions, and his 6 closest family members. Revenge will be sweet for our little pink bastard. Lopen's prediction: Kirby with 75.12% Transience’s Analysis Haha, best picture ever. Kirby actually got out-picture'd for once. WCC's relative flop showed that Portal's only so popular. I really don't think WCC is pure joke vote - there are a lot of Portal fans that will back it in ways that aren't fueled by 'hahaha it's a cube xfd', so to see it stumble against weak competition like The Boss isn't particularly inspiring. Glados will surely get some support, but that's one unrecognizable picture as per usual. Ngamer Says: Kirby > Some Eye, 66.18% Kleenex’s Analysis GlaDOS wrecked Fawful last round. Kirby looked alright. There's a big enough strength disparity here that Kirby should have no trouble. GlaDOS doesn't seem to have the following that WCC gets and seriously look at that goddamn picture what the hell. We'll see how Kirby looks here and see if he's still up to giving Sonic a run, but I feel like if Ganondorf can't do it, Kirby won't be able to either. Bracket: Kirby Favorites: Kirby Prediction: Kirby with 65.78% Red Sox’s Analysis This is a contender for blowout of the round. Kirby wins easily over a character who couldn’t break 43% on Falco last year. The only thing GlaDOS has going for her here is that it’s a night match, which might save her a percent or two, but won’t save her from destruction. Prediction: Kirby with 68.80% Upset Potential: 0% Upper Bound: Kirby with 72% Lower Bound: Kirby with 65% Crew Consensus: Kirby sucks up another opponent |

Hyrule Division: Round 2 - Match 72 – (7) Vivi vs. (2) Altair Moltar’s Analysis Vivi Round 1 - 56.29% vs. Donkey Kong Some things never change Altair Round 1 - 59.12% vs. Liquid Snake And others things do….big time. Well Altair made a believer out of me. His performance against Liquid was easily one of the most impressive performances of Round 1. Took a match that seemed to favor Liquid and just spanked him. It’s even more impressive considering how much Ezio sucked it up in his match. Meanwhile, nothing has changed between DK and Vivi over the years. Both do look weaker these days, so maybe they’re falling at the same rate? Anyway, I like Altair here now that Round 1 has passed. Going from killing Lucario to losing to Duke is one thing, but he’s already beaten Liquid easily this year, so the sky’s the limit. Moltar’s Bracket: Liquid > Vivi (whoops) Moltar’s Prediction: Vivi: 48% - Altair: 52% Lopen’s Analysis I do not feel good about Vivi here. Dude did almost identically against Donkey Kong as last time, but man I just knew that either Liquid Snake would beat Vivi, or Altair with his stealthy ways would prove to be Liquid's foil, as stealthy folk often are, and he would go on to trash Vivi. Lo in taking Liquid out so decisively, I'm pretty sure he's going to dispatch Vivi with some ease. If nothing else, just think of it like this. "Liquid Snake vs Donkey Kong, who ya got?" Day match certainly doesn't hurt the assassin either, as he dresses in white to blend in with daylight. How cunning! Lopen's prediction: Altair with 55.33% Transience’s Analysis Screw analysis, I'm going to go straight x-stats on this one. 1.) Would Vivi get 59% on Liquid Snake? Probably not. 2.) Would Altair get 56% on Donkey Kong? Probably. 3.) If Altair and Vivi were equal, Donkey Kong would get 53.24% on Liquid Snake. Would I pick Donkey Kong to beat Liquid Snake with 53%? Hell, I'd be skeptical of picking him to win period. Vivi has to hope that there are some loyal Square voters because, by the numbers, he looks like the weaker character by a good margin. That picture doesn't really accentuate his black mage features, either. transience's prediction: Altair with 54.67% Ngamer’s Analysis Quickie w/ Ng: Would love to stick with my bracket, but... sorry, not in a Day Match! Ngamer Says: Altair > Vivi, 50.03% Kleenex’s Analysis This is the first time I'm doing this, but I'm going against my bracket here. The way Altair absolutely wrecked Liquid and the way Vivi...kinda didn't do the same to DK has me worried enough that I'm gonna go against my bracket. Plus there's the fact that this is a day match... I dunno, I feel like Vivi's probably always been a little overrated in strength, and I think Altair can take advantage of that here. We'll see. Bracket: Vivi Favorites: Vivi Prediction: Altair with 52.01% |
Red Sox’s Analysis Before the contest, Vivi was the favorite in this match, and most people had him advancing over Liquid Snake. Altair shattered those expectations with his 59-41 demolition of Liquid in round 1, which established him as the clear favorite here. Vivi should be stronger than Liquid, but not by any massive amount. Liquid established himself as a decent midcarder after MGS4 with his impressive 45% on Luigi and then 43% on Megaman X. He may have fallen backward somewhat this year, but going by the other MGS characters, probably not by very much. Altair’s 59% on Liquid, then, looks very very good. It was probably helped along to the tune of a percent or two by the day match- but this is a day match also, so Altair will have the same advantage here. He got a large boost from AC2 since last year, but remember that he started off already at a decently high level- he was Duke’s equal who put up 39% on Zack. Vivi does have winning chances here, but I think Altair probably takes it in a walk. Prediction: Altair with 56.56% Upset Potential: 15% Upper Bound: Altair with 62% Lower Bound: Vivi with 51% Guest’s Analysis - FantasyFreak999 Hey, it's FantasyFreak999 again with my guest writeup for Vivi vs. Altair This match has me very worried for my bracket pick. I have Vivi advancing, but Altair's performance has me a little worried about the black mage's chances. I would expect Vivi to beat out Liquid Snake by the same amount, so I'm worried for my favorite black mage. I think the lil guy can still beat the assassin, although it won't be by a lot. Let's just hope my favorite mage can win over fans with his lovability. Vivi - 52.12% Crew Consensus: After Round 1, Vivi goes from the favorite to only having one lone supporter.
