Character Battle VIII Contest Analysis Crew - Part 3
Hello once again! For those who are new here, the Contest Analysis Crew is a group of users who know how these Contests work. Our duty is to analyze each match and predict who will win each match and the percentages each character will get. Wish us luck, because we'll need it. Anyway, Introduction time! *On the morning of January 14th, three witches are sitting in a small room enjoying their Tea Party.* Moltar: So, did you two hear? It’s that time of the year again. Lopen: …Indeed, a new game is about to begin. What is the gameboard like this time? Moltar: It’s back to 1-on-1, this time, with 128 characters! Sounds interesting, riiiiiiight? I can’t wait to determine the results using my magic! Lopen: …Hmph, such a child you are, Moltar. Your magic means nothing. The results are determined by the voters. Moltar: Hoh! So you want to challenge me again, Lopen? I’ll create all the results, and you won’t be able to explain them with voters! They will be so unpredictable that everyone will be forced to accept my magic! The number of votes I can create are endless! I am the Voting Witch, Master Moltar! Lopen: …Very well, I, the Witch of Upsets, Lopen, accept your challenge. I don’t expect to be bored. Tran: Hey you two! What are you talking about! Let me in! Let me in! Moltar: It’s another game between Lopen and I. Will you be supporting me again, Tran? Tran: Naaaah, I’m tired of you, Moltar. And I would never be on Lopen’s side! Therefore, I, the Witch of Locks, Transience, will make my own side! Lopen: …Make your own side? I see you’re still a child too, Tran. At least you won’t make me bored though. Tran: Hehe, I love you Lopen! You’re so <cute>! Moltar: I want to invite someone in on this little game between us. Come forth, my finest servant, Ngamer. Ngamer: Ngamer here, at your service, Master Moltar. Moltar: Do you wish to participate in this game with us? Ngamer: Very well, I, Ngamer, will join. Let me warn you though, I am pretty good and figuring out the true results, pukuku. Lopen: …I see, now this is even more interesting. I shall bring a guest too. Kleenex, where are you? Kleenex: I’m right here, Lopen! Lopen: You will participate in this game as well. If you win, I’ll promote you to the rank of a Witch. You can be the Witch of Facts. *giggle* Kleenex: <Good>. That would be an honor! I, the great detective, KleenexTissue, will do my best! My skills are first-rate! Tran: Hey you two! I want to bring someone in too! Um…um…oh I know! I’ll bring in your teacher! Moltar: My teacher? You don’t mean- Tran: Hey red sox, get out here! Red Sox: Yes, Transience? Tran: You’re also going to join our game! I want you to do your best and beat your student. Red Sox: Is that alright with you, Moltar? Moltar: That fine with me! The more the merrier! I’ll make all of you submit to my voting magic! Red Sox: Very well, I, Red Sox, will also join the game. It’ll be more productive than spending time with and constantly getting teased by G- Moltar: Oh, there’s more thing. There will be more people joining us. Arise, Guests! Lopen: …The Guests? They aren’t exactly…the brightest, you know. Tran: Yeah! What’s up with that? They’re as dumb as Goats! Moltar: I think you two will be surprised. They can be really clever sometimes! One guest will also participate in each match of our game. Moltar: Anyway, I hope everyone is ready! I’ve already made a certain man lose the will to fight against me, and now it’s your turn! Prepare to submit to my Endless Voting magic, Readerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs! only worried about one thing in regards to Heavy: if Heavy keeps it

Reposted by popular request. (And as a preview for an upcoming Crew fanfic!) (bottom assignment has been updated) The TMNT Crew Master Moltar as Master Splinter * The Crew's wise old sensei and adoptive father, Moltar is a supremely talented analysis who learned the ways of predictsu from the man who consistently owned him, Ultima Terializer. These days he prefers to mostly stay underground and let the younger members of the Crew do the dirty work, but anyone who disrespects him by thinking he's "well past his prime" is in for a rude awakening. tranny as Leonardo * The courageous Crew leader and a devoted student of math 'n stats, tranny is the most experienced of the four and the most skilled at writeups. When the going gets tough, everyone knows that tranny is the one Crewmember who can always be counted on to submit a well-reasoned prediction on time. Ngamer as Donatello * The brilliant x-stats scientist, Guru inventor, site engineer, and technological genius, "Ng" is perhaps the least aggressive Crewmate, preferring to take a conservative approach to predictions and use his inventive website to help solve difficult matchup problems. Kleenex as Raphael * The team's bad boy, Kleenex has an aggressive nature and seldom hesitates to throw the first verbal jab. He is an intense analyst; his writeups can be alternately fierce and sarcastic, and they often times delivers deadpan humor. Still, he is intensely loyal to his fellow Crewmates and their sensei. Lopen as Michelangelo * Easy-going and free-spirited, "Longshot Lopen" provides much of the comic relief for the series (of topics). While he loves to relax with short writeups on dull matches, this Crewmate also has an adventurous and creative side, leading to nearly all of the most daring upset choices (and most hilarious writeups!) in Crew history. red sox as Casey Jones * A newcomer to the group, this longtime Contest vigilante has become one of the core Crewmember's closest allies. Casey first met up with the Crew after having a fight with Kleenex in the stats topic. red sox fights against past Contest results with an assortment of intellectual tools (SFF, LFF, Chrono Trigger bias, nostalgia, not having played any video game released since 1998, etc.), never resting until he has somehow battered, beaten, and twisted the stats into supporting his conclusion. Leon as Shredder * A villainous predictsu master called Leon Hartfour. In every incarnation of the Crew season, he has been the archenemy of Moltar and the Crewmates. Leon prefers to use biting sarcasm and hindsight to insult the Crew's choice well after a match has been decided instead of submitting his own writeups ahead of time. The Crew will not rest until he has been dethroned from his #1 position and exposed for the fraud he is. Heavy
looked pretty awful last year though. I know TF2 has gotten stronger
since then, but he's got a long way to go up to get to be something

poorly, but I had rock-bottom expectations and he outdid them a little.

he got 13% in a fourpack with Kratos, Ocelot, and Jill, which isn't
that great of a grouping. I'd say he's weaker than Spy if anything

I
don't think Roxas will have too much trouble here. TF2 may have gotten
stronger, but he got that DS game for whatever it's worth, on top of
looking stronger than Heavy to begin with. Spy is really the only thing
that gives Heavy some hope, but that also involves Master Chief,

Ngamer's Fantastical Writeup Whoa, Jill is going nuts today! I was expecting her to start maybe a tick over 60 and then drop slightly to the GTA afternoon vote; instead she started out at 70 and hasn't fallen off too bad from there. Now, as much as I'd like to pat myself on the back for my Umbrella Chronicle call and ask if perhaps we've found a new #1 outside of the "Clinkeroth" females (Samus/Zelda/Tifa), it seems pretty clear that this overperformance is about 70% Niko, 30% Jill. It only took about a month and a half for people to stop talking about GTA4- apparently in the year and a half since then, they've forgotten that it even existed. Well, here's hoping Jill goes on to put up a respectable number on Samus next round, to at least justify the 30% I gave her credit for! We've got a fairly intriguing matchup in store for tonight. Just the other day I was talking about how Sora is Square's answer to Master Chief, ie a love/hate character with some decent pop but who can't blow anyone out because he's constantly being anti-voted. The real MC went up against TF2 and its hardcore Valve fanbase and bombed hard, barely scoring over 60. So welcome into the ring... a Sora clone that's even more hated than himself, set to do battle with... that identical fanbase? Uh oh! I'm no expert on the Team Fortress scene, but I've always thought of the Heavy as the face of the series, so I'm expecting him to be more or less shoulder to shoulder with the Spy. I'm also no KH expert, but I've always gotten the impression that Roxas gets by on his anime look and just leaching off the series in general, meaning it shouldn't take much for voters to jump ship on him. And even if Sora is a bit above Master Chief these days, I'd still expect this silly clone to be a good two steps back, meaning I ought to predict him in that 55% range. But... ack, can't quite pull the trigger on it- guess I've just been burned by Kingdom Hearts too many times, and probably I'm giving the new game way too much credit for winning DS GotY.
