The board likes SMS plus it has brackets. You can never be too sure that SMS will have the brackets. Well, I got Halo 3 in my 2 brackets. I expect it to be close but Sunshine is about as weak as it gets for a Mario game. Why it Happened: Either LoD has some legit strength of Uncharted 2 is ass, probably the later. Then, Street Fighter finally wins one with the 'upset' (damn casuals) over SA2. Looks like both these games are losing to Persona 4!! What will Happen: I...don't know. If Uncharted is as weak as it looked, SF4 has a good shot at winning. This is Halo vs. Ninja Gaiden, and Halo > MC while NG < Ryu H as we have seen in the past. However, because it’s Halo, it’s not going to look great here. I mean Halo 3 is barely beating the most hated Mario game right now. Ninja Gaiden is weak, but I’m not going to be surprised if it looks good here against Halo. Still doesn’t mean Halo should have trouble winning. Moltar’s Bracket: Halo > Ninja Gaiden Moltar’s Prediction: Halo - 60% Lopen’s Analysis Leave Hayabusa vs Chief at the wayside. Ninja Gaiden struggled to break through a pretty weak vote-in, and that's really all you need to say here. Halo > Master Chief, Ninja Gaiden < Ryu Hayabusa, and well, that match was close anyway. The old axiom of the original Xbox having two functions will be proven today. Lopen's prediction: HALO with 63.55% Transience’s Analysis I am writing this before the Sunshine match so I won't be able to readjust this pick after the match, but I don't think it matters. Despite Hayabusa beating Chief -- and I'm somebody that picked Hayabusa over Chief without thinking -- Ninja Gaiden can't beat Halo. It's just not very strong. Just look at it. It lost to Legend of Dragoon and Star Wars something or other. Halo, weak as it is, would rock that crap. It's a day match which benefits Halo bigtime. Ninja Gaiden is the weakest of the main character action games and character action games suck ass here. I could see it putting up a fight if "halo lol" exists to a ridiculous degree, but Halo is such a huge favourite here. transience's prediction: Halo with 61.15% Leon’s Analysis As someone who had Ryu Hayabusa > Master Chief from day 1 of the last Character Battle, let me go ahead and put this out there: Ninja Gaiden isn’t winning this. Those games aren’t popular here. Hayabusa is popular because of his character design, not because of the games (hence you see him getting SFF’d hardcore by Solid Snake twice) and struggling to beat Jill Valentine and getting wrecked by pre-KH2 Sora when he had Arabusa pics. Plus, action games just don’t do well here, Ninja Gaiden especially. Seriously, find me a poll where Ninja Gaiden doesn’t embarrass itself. It can’t be done. Of course, that’s not to say Halo 1 hasn’t done plenty to embarrass itself in the past. Everyone’s familiar with the StarCraft > Halo upset at this point, and it couldn’t even beat Wind Waker with SSBM in the poll last year. That being said, it still got 48.50% on Diablo 2 in round 1, which is pretty good, and it beat KOTOR and GTA3 outright, which should be enough to get it by Ninja Gaiden here. Kleenex’s Analysis Master Chief, GAME FUEL, finish the fight, I need a weapon etc etc etc. Yeah, I got nothin'. Kleenex's Precition: Halo with 58.45% Applekidjosh’s Analysis in 2009 Halo shows itself to be in the Diablo 2 range, which isn't terrible. Meanwhile Ninja Gaiden gets in through the same vote in poll that Legend of Dragoon did... except Ninja Gaiden got 4th place in it. Behind Mario Kart DS. Behind Star Wars Battlefront 2. WAY behind LEGEND OF FREAKING DRAGOON. This is not a way to show your 2010 strength Ninja Gaiden! Halo pistols Ninja Gaiden with 61.11% Guest’s Analysis - DaruniaTheGoron I'll have to admit, I'm a little nervous about this match. Halo almost never fails to fail us (which takes a smile off my face because I'm probably the biggest fan of Halo: Combat Evolved on this board. Shoutout for my Multiplayer Guide, check it out if you still play Halo 1!). And of course, these two games' characters have gone head to head themselves and embarrassed a lot of us badly last year, including myself. But generally, Halo and Master Chief have lost to good opponents. Starcraft, Aeris, Sub-Zero, Crono, Frog (in his good year) in 1v1s is not a bad record. Nearly losing to Felix and Donkey Kong is pretty bad, I have to admit though. But the point is he didn't lose to them, it was just embarrassingly low percentages because of anti-votes. I think the same thing will happen here. Master Chief has dropped off since his Game Fuel run in 2007, but the actual game is now a little more respected since the early 2000s when you were hard pressed to find anyone outside the Halo: CE board who admitted that Halo is a good game. The Xbox is definitely accepted by most gamers now. I think with last year, more people just thought Ryu was a cooler character than Master Chief (plus a perfect blend of some anti-votes as well). But I think GameFAQs will vote in favour of the game this time. It helps that the Ninja Gaiden in this poll is also an Xbox game, whereas the Hayabusa character has been around since the NES game. I do think the match will be close, but ultimately Halo will win it. Halo 3 managing to beat a Mario game (even if it IS Sunshine, it still makes me feel good to see that people would rather vote against a bad-average Mario game than against Halo) gives me a lot more faith in this match.
